Starting your oil analysis program is easy. Get a kit, take a sample, and send it in!

  1. Get a Free Test Kit

2. Take a Small Sample

Most people sample when they do an oil change, but we also sell quick-draw pumps if you want to keep running the oil.

If you don’t have our kit, just put the oil in something that won’t leak when you send it.

3. Fill Out the Oil Slip

Print an oil slip to go with it. If you’d rather not list your credit card on the slip, you can pay for the sample here.

4. Pack & Mail the Sample

Postage is included! You can also print a mailing label here.

Wrap the gray stuff around the white bottle. Put that in the bag. Put that in the black mailer. Put that and the slip in the white envelope.

Take a picture of the tracking number! Drop the sample in any blue mailbox, or send it at any post office. Note: Oil is not hazardous!

Yes. Oil is safe and legal to send if the flashpoint is above 200°F or 93°C (which your engine oil sample is).

This letter explains to the USPS that your sample, in our kit, meets all postal regulations.

  • Our free test kit contains all the packaging you need.
  • Take a picture of the tracking number so you can see when it gets here.
  • Not using our kit? The sample should be:
    • In a bottle with a secure, screw-on lid
    • In a ziplock/recloseable bag
    • Surrounded by absorbent material

  • We only send kits to countries outside of North America if you are buying in bulk.
  • HOWEVER! You do not need our kit to send in a sample. You can send us oil in anything with a screw-on lid. We need about 3 oz/90 ml.
  • We recommend putting the sample into a ziplock/recloseable bag with paper towels around it, in case of leaks. Use a padded envelope or box to send it to us.
  • Take a picture of your tracking number so you can see when it arrives.

5. Get Your Results!

We email a detailed report, with comments written by an actual person. Results are also available online.
